The principle of operation of biogas plants

• A large capacity is installed as close as possible to the source of raw materials (pig farms, cowsheds, stables, food processing plants, etc.), into which sewage or production waste is fed through a pipeline;
• The raw materials are pumped into a reactor, where bacteria feed on organic matter and produce methane. The mixture is heated, fermentation takes place;
• Methane is sent to a gas holder through openings in the reactor (through pipes);
• The gas passes through gas cleaning devices (GCDs);
• The gas then passes through a compressor and enters a gas piston engine that produces electricity or is used as fuel for water heating.

After the completion of the reactor fermentation process, the remaining residues are extracted and used as finished organic fertilizer. All tanks must be tightly sealed to prevent unpleasant odors from spreading. In some locations, additional gas purification systems are installed, which then supply consumers for use.
